Here is used Tofu not Soy bean curd. Soy bean curd is the thin layer on top of the Soy Milk while cooking.
This receipe ist just panfried tofu!

Not to mention cheap! 12 ounces of tofu is a dollar sixty in my supermarket, while the calrorie-equivalent 6 ounces of beef costs just under three bucks.

Basically nothing, but If you eat it cold out of the package, it’s not too great. Not something that you can eat a whole lot of. But when it’s cooked with something, or seasoned, you can make it taste practically any way you want. :)

Bascially nothing. Tastes as you season it…. ;P

On it’s own, tofu has a very little flavor. The sauces or spices you add really flavor it. It is more for texture (and protein). Different types of tofu (silken, soft, firm, extra firm) are used for different recipes.

It has a very “asian” taste so it may not go well with pasta (unless you do an asian version of pasta).

Definitely cook the veggies and tofu separately. The tofu takes a considerably longer time to brown so your veggies will be overcooked by then and the juices from the veggies will prevent the tofu from browning. You can start with the tofu, pull it out and use the same pan for the veggies. Just add the tofu back in at the end.

Thanks for the video! If you were to cook vegetables to go with this, would you cook them in the same pan (at the same time?) or would you cook them separately and add the stir-fry vegies later?

In Japan we call it Agedashi Tofu. The cubes are dipped in a cornstarch & water batter before it is fried. The the cubes are served with soy sauce, fresh ground ginger & chopped green onions.
